Wingham High School Online Archive

Wingham High School, established in 1962, seeks to ensure a comprehensive education for all students by providing a sound formal education, a range of sporting and cultural opportunities and an effective welfare and support program.

The school has developed a reputation for producing students who achieve the highest levels in academic, cultural and and sporting pursuits. Our students' achievements are consistently applauded and recognised through the Endeavour Scheme and Excellence Assemblies. Additional recognition has also come to Wingham High School via the Director General's Awards for vocational education initiatives, for its part in the reconcilliation project "Nothing's Going to Stop Our Dream", and an Assistant Director General's Award for agriculture education.

Graduates of Wingham High School have spread around the globe in areas as diverse as journalism, environmental science, the United Nations, banking and finance, agriculture, politics, medical research, the Australian Defence Force, astronomy and many more.

Wingham High School is particularly proud of it's record in agricultural education, which has grown from a modest vegetable garden and a few chooks to include raising fat cattle.

The existing school campus dates from the mid 1960s, and was upgraded 1991.
